I've looked at a few videos of it, and I think it has potential but it's yet to get to a point where I would buy it. It has a different feel and a different look, and the gameplay is different. I know that'd I'll probably enjoy the heck out of both games when it releases, simply because I love space games and I can spare a couple dollars to subdue my addiction.Įnd of post, comment down bellow what you think and don't forget to like and subscribe for more content.Įmpyrion is a very different game. Seeing that the other game is lopsided toward survival and story telling where as this Space Engineers is more toward building and engineering, the players might want to experience both for a complete satisfaction. Space Engineers can also benefit from Empyrion as well. Competition is what drive sales, and give more features.
EMPYRION GALACTIC SURVIVAL PLANETS EDITOR UPDATE
A sudden appearance of a new kid on the block that threaten to halt sales might give the guys at KSH a kick in the butt to work even harder to compete with such new kid (Not that they even need one tbh, but judging from the recent update threads, I think some people would agree that they kinda deserve one). Now, with Space Engineers, being a dominant space sandbox game for awhile now along with Starmade, which really isn't a biggest thread, renovation can kinda slide down a couple notches. They can come out with the same crap every single year and people would still buy it, because there is no other market for them to compete. There's no real competition so there's really no reason for these companies to renovate. Imagine the f*ckups it would be their products that come out for the consumers. Just imagine, close your eyes and think, about a world where there's only Ford who makes car, Boeing who makes jet, Microsoft who makes computers and EA who makes game.
Now here is why I think that Empyrion is great for the development of Space Engineers. Such a large fanbase isn't just gonna suddenly disappear for no reason. There's still thousands of players playing the game regularly, me included. Space Engineers is an established game with a large fanbase.I can't speak for Empyrion because it just came out, but honestly it would be very impressive if they keep update their game as regularly as Space Engineers for another 2 years. That takes some serious dedication and even though the updates are kinda hit or miss, it shows that they actually care about further developing the game. Give me the name of another company that does this sort of thing. Space Engineers is updated frequently ONCE A WEEK.If you say Empyrion gives you the tools to build things, refer to point #1. These things are different as night and day. Space Engineers is a Engineering construction game. Empyrion is a survival based game with catering to story aspect. This is a factor that again, might be very appealing to some. Who knows what they might roll out next? And from what I understand, Space Engineers' planet is a more significantly realistic than Empyrion. Empyrion has planets, and basic AI with floras and life, sure, but these things are also in development at KSH.Engineering is a huge part that's missing, and many people will not be happy with that. From my understanding, Empyrion does not have rotors or pistons or any other moving parts in their building system. Space Engineers allow for a complex building techniques and construction that Empyrion does not offer. Now, from what I've seen so far, Empyrion is not.
It's also an engineering and construction game, as the name would suggest. Some people think that Space Engineers fanbase will leave the game and play Empyrion, but here are the reasons why I THINK it will not happen: It's a simple opinion based evaluation and my feelings on the current state that many people are scared of with Space Engineers. Disclaimer: This thread is not a rant or a suggestions.
